CALL FOR ART:
Contemporary Native Artists of the Southeastern Indian Artists Association
June 1–30, 2011 • Five Civilized Tribes Museum, Muskogee, Oklahoma
Artists are invited to submit artwork for participation in the Southeastern Indian
Artists Association (formerly the Cherokee Artists Association) upcoming group exhibition
to be held in June at the Five Civilized Tribes Museum in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Below you will find information on how to submit your work for inclusion in the
exhibition. This invitational exhibition is open to current members of the SEIAA who
are enrolled members of a federally recognized tribe. If you’re not a SEAIA member yet,
email us and we'll send packet.
EXHIBITION TIMELINE & DEADLINES
Friday, May 6:
Digital images must be received via email (see submission guidelines below)
Wednesday, May 11:
Artists will be notified of acceptance of artwork via email
Friday, May 27 and Saturday, May 28:
Artwork delivered to Five Civilized Tribes Museum during regular museum hours
Wednesday, June 1:
Exhibition opens
Saturday, June 4:
Artists reception from 6-8 pm
Friday, July 1 and Saturday, July 2:
Artwork picked up at Five Civilized Tribes Museum during regular museum hours

Submission Guidelines
In order to be considered, the following materials must be submitted to the SEIAA via
e-mail by Friday, May 6 to info@seiaa.org
• Artists must be currently active members of the SEIAA
• Maximum of 4 images for consideration; jpeg format, maximum 2MB file size
per image
• Include title, medium, dimensions and price of each piece in the body of the email
• Artist bio
• Current résumé with contact information
• Copy of CDIB or tribal enrollment card
Rules and instructions for accepted artwork
• Artwork must have been completed since March 2010.
• Selected artworks must be framed and ready to exhibit with museum-quality materials
(D-rings, wire, etc.).
• Accepted artwork must be available for sale. A 30% commission will be collected
on all sales.
• Artwork should be labeled with the artist’s name, title, medium and price.
• Deadline to deliver artwork to the Five Civilized Tribes Museum by the artist or
designated representative is May 27-28, 2011.
• All artwork must be picked up at the Five Civilized Tribes Museum on July 1-2, 2011.
Please Note:
This is an invitational exhibition. Submission of images does not guarantee selection into the
traveling exhibition. Artistic excellence and artistic merit are the criteria by which artwork will
be considered for the exhibition. Factors taken into consideration in the selection of artists
include the artist’s connection to the SEIAA, professional status, and physical nature of artwork
in relation to exhibit limitations.
